On August 11th I had the pleasure of flying in Hank Galpin’s 1928 Travel Air 6000 with Barnstormer Eric Presten and the Fargo Air Museum’s Mike VanderMeulen and Fran Brummund from Fargo to Kindred for the “Odegaard” pancake breakfast fly-in. Our flight took off with three other barnstormers: Off our wing on the way to K74 was Dennis Guentzel’s impeccable 1929 Waco ATO Taperwing (Barnstormer Clay Adams in the front seat). On the way back, Jim Hammond formed up on us with his beautiful 1931 Stinson Junior Model S, followed by Steve Roth’s lovely parasol-winged 1935 Fairchild 22 as we approached KFAR.
